Welcoming New Board Members & Growing Together
We are grateful for our outgoing members and honored to welcome six new members as we enter an exciting time of growth and expanded impact.

We are deeply grateful to be led by an incredible Board of Directors. While they rarely take the spotlight, their leadership behind the scenes makes it possible for the Community Foundation to keep showing up for local communities. Their vision keeps us thinking big, their integrity helps us build trust across the counties we serve, and their wisdom ensures we will be here serving the South Puget Sound for many years to come.
In 2025, three board members—Charli Terminelli, Dan Jones, and John Stormans—concluded their terms and moved on to new adventures. We are thankful for the time, care, and leadership they shared with us and the communities we serve! As Charli, Dan, and John depart, we are happy to welcome our incoming board members—Amanda Gonzales, Bradley Miller, Wesley Nguyen, Licia Sahagun, Kristen Standifer, and Rodney Youckton—to guide our next season of community work.
Adding these six leaders grows our board and reflects a broader call to expand our impact in response to rising community needs. In the season ahead, all three priorities of our Strategic Framework—engage communities, mobilize resources, and advance well-being—will be expanding in meaningful ways.
Engage Communities. As we continue to build relationships and deepen connections across our region, especially in underserved communities like Lewis and Mason counties, our board will be vital. Growing our board increases our ability to listen, build trust, and be present.
Mobilize Resources. As community needs increase, we are also committed to growing the available resources. In 2026, we will add staff capacity to grow local philanthropy, increase fundraising, and provide greater support to our partners.
Advance Well-being. We are also growing in how we steward community assets. In addition to traditional investing and grantmaking, we will begin exploring local impact investing. This approach will allow us to align our investments with community goals and positive change.
With this exciting work ahead, we are fortunate to deepen the strong, diverse, and engaged leadership on our board. We invite you to learn more about each of our new board members below and to join us in welcoming them to the Community Foundation of South Puget Sound Board of Directors.
Meet Our Incoming Board Members
Amanda Gonzales (she/her) brings a deep commitment to service, collaboration, and behind-the-scenes leadership to our board. She currently serves as Senior Manager of the President's Office and Senior Executive Assistant to the Board at Inatai Foundation, where she supports governance, board engagement, and long-term planning. Known for her ability to connect people, priorities, and process, Amanda's experience advising leadership, managing complex initiatives, and bridging communication across all levels of an organization gives her a practical, behind-the-scenes understanding of what helps boards function effectively and with care.
Amanda's career reflects her belief in the power of supportive leadership. Most recently, she served as chief of staff at the Washington State Charter School Commission, acting as a trusted advisor to the executive director and board of commissioners. She is rooted in rural Thurston County, where she lives in Rainier with her partner, stepdaughter, and three chihuahuas, and is fortunate to be closely connected to her immediate family nearby. We are pleased to welcome Amanda to our board and value the steady leadership, attention to process, and people-centered approach she will bring to the Community Foundation's work.
Bradley Miller (he/him) brings a strong commitment to service, global perspective, and deep local roots to our board. Growing up in Shelton and a Shelton High School graduate, Bradley's path has been shaped by both Mason County and the wider world. While in high school, he spent a year in Germany as a Rotary Youth Exchange student and later studied in Florence, Italy, while earning his degree in business administration and a minor in Italian studies at Gonzaga University.
After graduation, Bradley served with the U.S. Peace Corps in Benin, West Africa, focusing on small business development and community-led economic growth. After returning home, he worked in production management in the local lumber industry before building a career in financial services. In 2024, he opened Totten Inlet Wealth Strategies in downtown Shelton, supporting individuals, families, and small businesses with retirement and estate planning. A husband, father, soccer coach, volunteer, nonprofit board member, and long-time Rotarian, Bradley reflects, "One of the greatest things we can do is show up and get involved in our community." We are delighted to welcome Bradley and his optimism, leadership, and commitment to Mason County.
Wesley Nguyen (he/him) brings more than 26 years of experience advancing inclusive growth and economic development to our board through a career that spans local government, international development, and social enterprise. He currently serves on the board of Verity Credit Union and as the Economic Development Coordinator for the City of Lacey, where he leads initiatives that support small businesses, attract investment, and strengthen local prosperity through community-centered solutions.
An immigrant with a global perspective, Wesley's commitment to inclusion and belonging is shaped by both his professional and personal experiences. He has worked hands-on with organizations including USAID, Habitat for Humanity, and the Peace Corps, partnering with communities around the world to drive meaningful, locally grounded change. Reflecting on the values that draw him to the Community Foundation, Wesley shares, "Inclusion resonates deeply with me; as an immigrant, I am truly focused on this value because, in this current time, fostering a sense of belonging for everyone is more critically important than ever." We are pleased to welcome Wesley and look forward to the global insight and equity-focused leadership he brings to our work.
Licia Sahagun (she/they) brings a deep commitment to community and environmental stewardship to our board. Growing up on a small farm outside a Chicagoland suburb, she spent hours exploring, playing, and just being outside. This fostered a love of the outdoors and a passion for connecting others to nature. Today, Licia is a co-owner and educator with Firecraft Northwest, a local small business that provides outdoor education to adults and families in the South Sound.
With more than a decade of leadership experience across sectors, Licia has consistently focused on partnerships, advocacy, and creating accessible programs that reconnect people to place, including roles with Washington State Parks and Recreation, Wild Whatcom, and the Green Energy Institute at Lewis & Clark Law School. Reflecting on what inspires her locally, Licia shares, "Giving my time, energy, and resources back to our local community connects me with wonderful people and gives me hope in what feels like very dire times. Together we are not only more impactful, but also more joyful and resilient." We are excited to welcome Licia and her grounded, people- and place-centered perspective.
Kristen Standifer (she/her) brings more than 25 years of experience in law, regulation, and consumer protection to our board. She currently serves as Senior Director of State Government Affairs at FINRA, a not-for-profit, self-regulatory organization focused on investor protection and market integrity. Her career also includes service as an Assistant Attorney General, leadership of a team of state regulatory examiners, and regular speaking engagements on topics like fraud prevention and safeguarding vulnerable populations.
Kristen's professional work reflects her commitment to public service. She is an active volunteer and has served on the boards of Washington Women Lawyers and Thurston County Volunteer Legal Services. Kristen lives in Olympia with her husband, two active boys, and a shih tzu. Reflecting on her role with the Foundation, she shares, "I am honored to support an organization that makes a meaningful impact on our community. Throughout my career, I have focused on finding practical solutions that balance the relevant interests, and I look forward to bringing that perspective to advance the Foundation's mission." We are pleased to welcome Kristen and her integrity and thoughtfulness to our board.
Rodney Youckton (he/him) brings decades of relationship-building, collaboration, and community leadership as he returns to our board. He has worked with Lucky Eagle Casino & Hotel since 2004 and currently serves as Chief Community Relations Officer, where he oversees donations and sponsorships and represents the organization across Thurston, Lewis, and Grays Harbor counties. His work centers on building meaningful partnerships with nonprofits and community leaders throughout the region.
Rodney's commitment to service extends well beyond his professional role. He is known as a mentor, cultural leader, and advocate for the Confederated Tribes of the Chehalis Reservation and currently serves on the boards of Centralia-Chehalis Chamber of Commerce and South Puget Sound Community College Foundation and volunteers with the Critical Incident Investigations Team. His past board service includes South Puget Sound Community College, the Community Foundation of South Puget Sound, the Dispute Resolution Center, the American Red Cross, and the Portland Art Museum. Recently honored with a Lifetime Leadership Achievement Award by the Tribal Leadership Council, Rodney brings deep regional knowledge, continuity, and a collaborative spirit that will strengthen our work and community relationships.
Thank you, Amanda, Bradley, Wesley, Licia, Kristen, and Rodney, for being part of our ongoing commitment to this place and the people who live here. Your diverse perspectives, skills, and leadership are so welcome and so needed. We're grateful for your belief in the Community Foundation of South Puget Sound and your decision to join our Board!
