What does good governance look like in practice? Nonprofit boards are more than fiduciary overseers—they are stewards of mission, culture, and community trust. When board members are engaged, informed, and connected, they help their organizations thrive and strengthen the communities they serve.

Join us for an experiential training, with Jeffrey Wilcox, President and Chief Mission Advancement Officer of Interim Executives Academy (formerly Third Sector Company), on how strong, engaged boards lead to resilient organizations. Drawing on decades of experience in leadership development and nonprofit governance, Jeffrey will guide participants through what it means to be an effective board member and how to cultivate a culture of stewardship that sustains your mission for the long term.

This session will help you:

  • Understand the essential roles and responsibilities of nonprofit board members
  • Explore how governance and leadership work together to advance organizational health
  • Strengthen your approach to board recruitment, engagement, and accountability
  • Reframe board service as an opportunity for professional and community growth

Designed for current board members, nonprofit executives, and community members interested in board service, this training is a chance to build capacity and connection across our local nonprofit sector.

Schedule:

  • 8:30 - 9:00 am: Coffee & Networking
  • 9:00 am - 12:00 pm: Training

Refreshments will be provided.
