Next Step Scholarship

The Next Step Scholarship fund was established to assist students planning to pursue a trade, vocation, or a career in a specific profession*.

The scholarship has the potential to be renewed for an additional year, re-application is required.

*Examples of career/vocations include (but are not limited to): dental hygenist, construction, truck driver, beautician/barber, nursing, legal secretary, culinary arts, IT. The following career paths are excluded from consideration: physician, architect, veterinarian, attorney, and CPA.

Key Criteria

Graduating senior from a public High School in Thurston, Mason, or Lewis Counties, or Raymond (Pacific County); cumulative GPA between 1.75 and 2.75 (Renewable)

How to Apply

Select the "Apply Now" link above to submit your application using the Community Foundation’s universal application. Creation of a user id and password is required.

Please note that the following items are required as part of the application process:

  • 2 Letters of Recommendation
  • Grade Transcript
  • Student Aid Report from FAFSA/WAFSA
  • Attendance Record for all four years of High School
