2022 Board Nominations Are Open!

We are excited to open recruitment for our Board of Directors! Please consider nominating yourself or someone you know to support the communities you love.

Hello,

As the chair and vice-chair of the Governance Committee, we are excited to announce that nominations are now open for the Community Foundation of South Puget Sound's Board of Directors. We expect to add up to four new members within the next six months to support the Thurston, Mason, and Lewis County communities you love.

We aspire to be an organization of, by, and for our communities, and your voice is critical in shaping the organization's leadership and future. We aim to build a Board of Directors that represents the diversity of our region—this includes but is not limited to race, ethnicity, gender identity, socioeconomic status, and geography.

We also wish to share with you today WHY we serve.

"I value the opportunity to serve on the Community Foundation board because I believe in the organizations we are supporting in our communities.  The ability to create sustainability for organizations working to make our communities better while building the base of the Community Foundation is an attractive philanthropic model for me." – Renee Radcliff Sinclair

“Being a member of the Community Foundation Board is a wonderful way to learn more about the many organizations which provide vital services.  I feel fortunate to live in such a generous and giving community! “– Mary Williams

Currently, our highest priorities are:

  • Individuals that live and/or work in Mason and Lewis Counties
  • People who come from diverse backgrounds and lived experiences that identify as Black, Indigenous, or People of Color
  • Accounting or investment management experience
  • Community members that are familiar with and work in education

Qualifications:
The Board of Directors has the overall responsibility for governing the Community Foundation. Our Board of Directors holds our organization accountable to the communities we serve and is responsible for setting strategic and policy-level guidance for the organization.

All nominations will be considered on a rolling basis, and final candidates will be interviewed. We expect to present and vote on candidates during our October Board of Directors meeting.
