South Sound Planned Giving Council Offers Brown Bag Lunch in Lacey - April 19, 2017

April 26, 2017

South Sound Planned Giving Council (SSPGC) is hosting “Leave 10 – The Conversation Begins.” This free lunchtime conversation is open to professionals working in the fields of planned giving, estate planning, financial planning, and development.

Leave 10 is designed to help professionals start conversations about bequest gifts and engage the prospective donor using a universally common goal.

Americans are considered among the most charitable people in the world. According to the World Giving Index, 63% of them make charitable donations, 46% volunteer their time for causes they care about, and 73% report helping strangers. And yet...fewer than 8% include a gift to charity in their estate plans.

Leave 10 aims to change that disconnect by educating, inspiring, and encouraging individuals to aspire to leave at least 10% of their estate to charity.

According to the SSPGC, engaging clients and donors in this topic is an opportunity to:

  • Learn more about your clients' values, priorities, and aspirations
  • Offer planning options that could serve their most important goals
  • Be agents of positive change for the community and succeeding generations

Whether you are an estate planning or wealth planning professional, or a gift planning or development officer, this event will help you feel more at ease about starting the planned giving.
