Community Foundation 2020 Golf Classic

Our Board of Directors and staff have made the difficult decision to cancel the Community Foundation’s 2020 Golf Classic. We are committed to prioritizing the health and safety of our community and recognize that we don’t know how long this pandemic will last. We recognize that tough decisions must be made every day; these are challenging times. We are disappointed we will not get to connect in-person with the people and organizations we look forward to seeing every year – those that share in our vision of inspiring local giving and encouraging effective philanthropy in our communities.
The Community Foundation’s focus during the pandemic has been to support the community in the most effective way possible and in March of this year we joined together with local partners in Thurston, Mason, and Lewis Counties to create COVID-19 Response Funds that support people most affected by COVID-19. These Response Funds are deploying resources to community-based organizations on the front lines of the coronavirus outbreak in their respective counties. The Response Funds provide resources to support immediate basic needs such as food, shelter, and homeless prevention.
We are incredibly grateful to the partners who are supporting us this year, even without a golf event: Union Bank, Lucky Eagle Hotel & Casino, the Bruno & Evelyne Betti Foundation, L&E Bottling Company, TwinStar Credit Union, Port Blakely, Heritage Bank, Our Community Credit Union, and Dr. William & Jacki Gavin.
You can help us continue to have the flexibility to respond to critical needs, whatever they may be, by giving to our Programs & Operations Fund. Your support helps us continue to have the resources to play that leadership role in our community during this time.
We remain hopeful we can bring back the Golf Classic in 2021!
