TRAINING FOR NONPROFITS

Trainings for Nonprofits

Give Local is an online giving campaign to support nonprofits across Thurston, Mason, and Lewis Counties.

Give Local South Puget Sound is hosted by the Community Foundation of South Puget Sound to support nonprofits across Thurston, Mason, and Lewis Counties. Give Local 2019 will feature approximately 100 organizations that have been reviewed by the Community Foundation.

We have an exciting set of trainings that we are making available as part of Give Local 2019!

All nonprofits participating in Give Local 2019 must register for the Give Local Training Webinar and at least one additional training offering. We welcome and encourage multiple people from your organization to attend these trainings.

If you were unable to attend a training, links have been provided below to recordings (webinars only) and supplemental documents for completed trainings.

Nonprofit Storytelling Workshop

Nonprofit Storytelling Workshop

Our success as fundraisers depends to a large degree on our ability to tell compelling stories – about the need in the community, about the impact of our work, and about the future we are striving to create. Whose stories are we telling to write that narrative? What are our practices for telling those stories? What power dynamics are at play? In this workshop, we will explore these and other questions while considering the practice of nonprofit storytelling. We will discuss storytelling conventions, learn ways to gather stories on a tight budget, and explore best practices to help guide us in building an ethical storytelling practice to enhance our fundraising campaigns. Participants will walk away with a solid foundation in storytelling principles, practices, and ethics that they can apply to their Give Local Campaign and fundraising campaigns.
