With initial funding of $5,000.00, the Community Foundation of South Puget Sound, serving Lewis, Mason and Thurston Counties, established the Disaster Relief Fund. Created as a mechanism to receive contributions from businesses and individuals locally and nationally, this fund will support relief efforts following the early December flooding. Hardest hit was Lewis County, and to lesser degrees, Mason and Thurston Counties. Foundation staff will work with local agencies and leaders to determine the best use of the funds to meet the needs of the area.
